Not to be a killjoy or anything but if memory serves me right the reason why we haven't had one of these in a long time is because it breaks copyright laws. Not quite sure how it works with dance remixes etc mind you.

i thought under 30 secs was legal

not that it bothers me, i'm sure everyone out there has made a cd of my 10 sec clips and distributed them out among all their friends and brought the music industry to a standstill

Yeah, apparently there is no time limit on it, it's more quality than quantity type thing i.e the first 2 secs of Sweet Child of Mine is instantly recognisable and crucial to the body of work as a whole.

well judging by the amopunt of replies and answers i got hardly any of it was instantly recognisable

I recognised 3 or 4 of them

Remembering the names was a whole other story though
