10 Second Movie

also the fact your hand only taps once doesnt really get the point across so well imho although not much you can do with time constraints
 
Im not a great fan of the edits so far, but im really picky about editing. I do a lot of film stuff at uni, and have a few ideas.

What about combining the two ideas, so the first one is when the internet has been shut down, and you are trying to find something to do, and then go to bed. Then the second idea is the next day where you are franctically trying to get back to the internet as a source of security, then find it back up. I dont know how you would end it really well, but i like the idea of the layering the different actions all with the same camera shot, really simple to do in adobe premiere, just layer the shots with a transparency.

Also, just pimping this, at bristol uni we host the ONLY national student film festival run by students in the UK. check out http://www.screentestfest.co.uk/, ive helped out for the last 2 years, and is really growing in popularity and size. We have had Ken Loach, the chairman of Bafta and Emily Watson come to the festival. Seems like this is the right place to advertise it, seems to be a few people here interested in it. Deadline for films is the end of the month though.
 
the day the internet went down would be "unable to establish connection" to the next scene which is me hanging myself.

Would definitely only take 10 seconds

You happen to have a picture... I dont tend to notice people in lectures.... actualy I just tend to not remember faces unless I speak to the person!
 
Some good projects there. I wish I had my camcorder still:( . I made a film at college years ago and not got the VHS tape anymore, wonder if I call up the college they might have a copy of it lying around?

It could be a good idea for a competition on here. We could all draw up a short movie. Synopsis, story board, script etc. Who ever is deemed to have the better idead and production could have it made into a short film.

If there is anyone on here that is good at making movies (short ones). He/she could have the job of putting it all together. Just a thought.
 
As a Film Student (Lah Di Dah me :p) I would lose the gunshot SFX from the first one. I think it will work better without it.

Good film like, short films are always quite hard I find.

That ain't a bad idea, maybe just have a white flash and then roll the credits.

To do it, go to file>new>color matte and choose white, then stick the new matte on the timeline for about 5 frames and fade it out from the first frame, I think it'll look good :D

Right, I have been having a think, and I think that if I go with the "Sad Ending" that I should try and have it taken as humour, rather than serious, So my questions are:

1) Which do you think is the best ending?
2) If I go with the sad one, Should I replace my hand with a fake gun, or actualy keep it as my hand to add some humour
3) Do you think the sad ending is at all humourouse? E.G Self Deprevative Humour
4) How do you think this would be received if showed to a room of around 80 students?
