100,000's of HOME invites being sent out today...

I have to admit I did enjoy playing pool - quite easy I found, most of my opponents didnt :p

And my bowling high score is 150-something after 2 games - who can trump m (easily :p)...

My initial thoughts about this havent changed - could be a good idea, might be more than what we really wanted, so to me its Sony spending time where they shouldnt IMHO - fully expecting massive increase in content and support, otherwise this will bomb bigger than the PS3 itself...

Sony seem to be trying to make everything high-tech and web2.0 to get all the plaudits but seem to have forgotten that gamers are the heart of the PS platform...

EDIT:

<rant>
What really grinds me is that the X360 live functionality is already there in component form (game launching in Home, Res2 has some awesome party controls and voice comms) so its not like Sony would have to spend too many resources to get it into XMB. I just dont understand why they are being so obtuse...

ps3ud0

Agreed. I just can't see myself using it long term, maybe thats just me though. It's very 'second life' which i don't at all.

Ah well

Hmm I got one Ill have to remember to recconnect the ps3 to the internet later...

You've got to be joking. No offence mate but I've got a launch day console, use it daily, spent money on PSN, etc and I didn't get an invite. You don't even have yours connected to the net and you get one! Stupid Sony :(

And yes, I'm jealous :p Look like I'll have to wait a few weeks for the open beta.

Edit: Thanks rp.

Think about it, you use yours daily anyway, they don't need to tempt you in.

The inner delinquent came out in the end - i just walked around picking fights with anybody!! was quite fun actually!! oh and trying to chat up some ladies...(sad i know). Dunno how long the appeal will last tho...the scope is huge with it but if you need patience!! something that a lot of people wont have.

Needle btw where did u get your sig?

did you use the code i mailed you ?

I love it! Played a game of ten-pin bowling with a random bloke from Reading. Five strikes in a row, I got. :D I really think it's going to be great when it launches. It's already shaping up nicely. The Harbour view apartment thing is just lovely to look at. The ten-pin bowling alley was packed already - what on earth are they going to do when Home launches to 14 million possible visitors?

Yeh i had to wait a while to get a game of bowling, always packed out lol...quite a few french guys and some spanish lasses too. When this launches officially it will be huge

I havent played this so my opinion isnt very valid. But from what i've seen/read/watched I imagine i'd love it at first but get tired of it fairly quickly.

Hmmm, rather suprisingly given I barely use my PS3 and the only thing I've ever purchased from the Store is WipEout HD, I got a code yesterday.
Downloading now, wan't to see if it interests me at all.

I'm of the opinion that these emails are actually completely random. When you see that someone who has only just bought their PS3 gets an invite but people like me don't it kinda gives you that impression.
