CS6 takes heavy advantage of multithreading, so it tends to be one of the few things an AMD cpu is competitive on, especially as intel gimp the number of cores on the mobile CPU's
(mobile i5's is only dual-core)

I think chrismscotland is clearly referring to the i7 with 4 cores 8 threads...

Also, it's not always about the number of cores...Trinity CPU is just slow in comparison to what Intel has to offer, considering it got much lower IPC and is only stock clocked at 2.3GHz (the turbo-boost to 3.2GHz doesn't guaranteed to be sustainable at all time) and is slower than even desktop's Phenom II X4.

To be honest if its slower than a desktop Phenom II X4 then it's ruled out, my desktop is a Phenom II X4 and its struggles with Photoshop.

yea a mobile i7 will beat the trinity-m for sure, but the i5 is the one on an equal price point :) and an i5 will win in all lightly threaded applications, just not heavy threading

thats just the tradeoff you get with mobile processers due to power and temp constraints, even the i7-3517u is a fair bit slower than my desktop i5-750
