Did you see my link though, which has some more available

I love you and want your babies.

Bit of a kick in the teeth for those who paid for beta access though isn't it?

They still get access to founder mechs and in-game monies. It's a bit of a grind without. They've also had beta access for months, that part of it was just so they'd get first dibs, not exclusive beta access. It is in fact overdue for the open beta, which was targeted for end of summer.

So what's this like?
It looks very much like world of tanks, that although is fun for a while doesnt hold interest in the long run?

I love the originals, this just seems like its lacking a bit of depth.

If world of tanks was only 1st person and had less vehicles but more flexibility over their payloads/customization, then in terms of current model you wouldn't be far wrong.

Two randomly-thrown-together teams of pilots dropped onto a randomly picked map for a 5-10 minute fight (actual play deadline is 15 minutes but I don't see matches go the full round), rinse/repeat to earn funds and experience to spend on upgrades, is pretty much the shallow description of it.

Other game modes are intended but currently there is just the one, which involves wiping out the enemy team or occupying their base point for long enough to drain a counter.

It plays rather well, but 'lacking a bit of depth' would be an understatement compared to previous MW games that dropped you into an engaging campaign and story.

Caveat emptor on it being an as-yet incomplete development that hasn't yet been released or even open beta. There's also an NDA in place, limiting the amount of information to be released/shared at this point.

So I patched the game and when I loaded it up it says it's patching again? :o

Still stuck on this, here's a screen.

Is this meant to happen, been on this for about an hour now.

Once you get to that point, there's pretty little/nothing left to download or install. The entire game files on my machine only seem to occupy ~32MB or so. (Edit: Oops, game files are larger - about 1.6GB, was in a sub folder - but still I don't recall it spending any real amount of time once the game screen loaded)

So looks like you have a bit of an issue with your install. The patching button should be replaced with a Launch one when it's done, and you'd have a few tabs you can switch between to go over your mechs, the mech lab for customizing/purchase, and your pilots (and their experience skill trees).

The left side would show values for your 'credits' (the real money navy coloured bar, and the virtual money / c-bills grey bar), even if it's just a zero, once you're patched and logged in OK.

If you look at your game install folder for the Bin32\PatcherLogs, comparing the file contents there might help you to see where it's not progressing perhaps. Here's mine (although you'll see, I've not been playing this week):

There was a shed-load of downloading and extracting in an earlier ingame_patcher_log.txt of mine though, so if you see a lot more activity going on in yours, that might not be so bad - so long as it does advance.

Just loaded and patched mine to the latest, there had been updates since I last played - and it does seem to indicate you have some mixup in files.

In this latest version, the location of the cash bars has moved along the bottom of the screen, not on the left-side as they were before (and how I remembered it), and the pilot 'portrait' / avatar window (showing a white figure silhouetted in black) is no longer cropped and overlapped.
