so i format my HDD - reinstall windows because i been getting so many BSOD's. Vista installs fine and such and then on the first boot of vista for 1st time when it asks me to enter new username i get a BSOD labled "Memory_management". I not even got to desktop at this stage so i ran memtest and got a few errors, ran it again to make sure and no errors were found this time. Tested each module 1 by 1 and no errors.

i resinstalled vista 8 times in last week because i think i know what was causing my BSODS previously (if it wasnt the ram) it was my RALKIN driver for my f5d7050 belkin adapter. Everything i start the installation on clean vista it will stop and then i will leave it for ever but it wont progress. If i switch off my pc and try it again then i will start the installation again and then i will start getting BSODS (Ralkin drivers are the only ones i can use also).

CURRENTLY after my last bsod caused by my adapter drivers i think i havent been able to boot because of "award bios boot block" tried to flash bios and such but it didnt work so gunna send my mobo back.

Still u am not sure if it is my Memory that i helping cause my BSODS or these ralink drivers, i think they both seem to play a part but i will try to avoid the RALINK drivers with the corrupted install and still get the BSODS.

What do i do?!

sorry its so LONG

You say that you think it's the ram, from your description i would agree with that. But you then say that you flashed the bios. Why on earth did you flash the bios when you thought you had bad ram ? The last thing you do is flash a bios with unstable memory. As it stands at the moment, i would think you now have a corrupted bios. So do nothing else until you get another preflashed bios chip.

i have four and i dont know which one to send back :S

i have 3 ones that looks the same and 1 that looks different. But there all the same thing.

see i bought 2 GB - One broke so i got a new one and it looked different.

then i bought a new one and those two looked like my replacement.

probs no difference but i dunno which one to send :S

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Have you got a mix of the single and double sided versions?

The double-sided version has clips holding on the heatspreaders (tho they'e just for show). Or you can just look down the sides of the heatspreaders to see if the sticks have chips on just one or both sides of the PCB.

How did you end up with a single double-sided stick?

It's quite possible that all 4 sticks are fine, but that the odd one isn't compatible with the other three.

But then, since it's Ballistix, any or all of them could be dead. You'll have to test them when you can.

when i do test them by them selves i get no errors back from memtest 86.

and i ended up with 1 odd one because:

BOUGHT 2 BALIXTIX RAM (2 double sided sticks)

ONE BROKE SO SENT ONE BACK and they sent me back a non-double sided stick.

then bought an extra 2GB ram which were not double sided

how can i find the faulty module(s)?

I guess i could do a long series of tests over 4 days - so far i havent been able to last for more than 1 day with out a bsod. Will do that soon.

waiting for my mobo to get returned first :( my ga-p35-ds3r broke :(

Test the odd stick with a single-sided stick in the same channel (same coloured slots). Then test the same two sticks in different channels (different coloured slots).
