Hi,

Could you put together a gaming rig for me with a £1000 budget in mind, I don't require a monitor, keyboard or mouse. I would pref. a black case and no fancy unnecessary stuff!

The price should include the cost to build it too, as I won't be doing that myself. I'm also using 2 monitors and the possibility of streaming in the near future.

thanks in advance.

If you are thinking about streaming i would go with Nvidia since you can easily stream using shadow play and not taking such a performance hit.

Thanks a lot Shivvy011, any suggestions to which Nvidia card I should go for and whether it would be compatible with what you put together?

All of this is a grey area for me so I appreciate all the input.

Are there any ergonomic or environmental factors we should consider? Like noise, size, dust, pet hair, and portability?

Shivy, you appear to have forgotten a heatsink: the stock Intel one leaves a lot to be desired and is unsuitable for overclocking.

The OEM cpu doesn't come with a heatsink.

@OP

Do you need a copy of windows as well ?

Ah yeah, completely forgot about that.

Bit different, lower end case with a heatskin and GTX 780

I'm just looking for something that I can play current and future games on really - I'm not bothered about the noise or portability etc.

My PC at the moment is a Advent SQ9204 - with a different graphics card but its very old now and it was never very good to start with anyway, I believe some things could be salvaged from it but I really don't know anything about building PC's and compatibility so I'll just give it a miss.

I also have 2 x BenQ RL2455HM 24 inch 1080p Full HD LED Monitors, which are 60hz not 120hz.

I will need windows - not office though; I can raise the budget to £1200 to help accommodate this

Will the case/tower have an eternet port and room for a wireless adapter? (both of these I have already) - the more USB ports the better as I have quite a few different extras (headset, mouse, keyboard, apple cord).

thanks for the support

It's not really about bling mate, that Zalman case isn't even black! It's smaller than the Corsair and for that reason temperatures will be higher. Seriously a 780TI and 4770k into a a Zalman Z3? I don't think so! :p Let's not forget the extra features that I won't go into but definitely helpful for now and the future!

Also let me remind you of the fact that the 4770k would just be overkill thus pointless as the 4670k is more than capable enough for gaming no need to go higher really!

All motherboards have built in ethernet ports. The motherboard will also have USB2 and USB3 ports for the back of the case, and internal usb that connects to a cable for the front/top of the case depending on which one you choose.

Is there much difference between the Asus Radeon R9 290 DirectCU II OC 4096MB GDDR5 PC and the Gainward GeForce GTX 780 Phantom 3072MB GDDR5 PCI?

Ok last question to clear things up, where do I select the option for overclockers to put everything together?

apart from that, thanks a lot to everyone who helped!
