107 years after sinking, Shackleton's lost ship Endurance has been found.

Hopefully they'll leave it down there. It's become home to many species now, be shame to ruin it.

It's not getting touched apparently.

The wreck itself is a designated monument under the international Antarctic Treaty and must not be disturbed in any way. No physical artefacts have therefore been brought to the surface

Sexy Fact #2,536
My wife is a blood relative of Shackleton and around five years ago she said to our daughters "I bet you're jealous that you haven't got a famous blood relative like me" :)
We've never let her forget it.

Shame really, I'm fairly sure no crew died as the ship sunk. Would be amazing to see it in the flesh on display. :)
All of the crew made it home by some miracle! Not sure if the ships cat made it!

I think it’s best left where it is there are much better uses of the money it would cost to raise it although I would be in favour of bringing up the ships bell or similar.

This is a pretty incredible discovery! I surprised how well it has kept. As they won’t lift it to the surface I wonder what else they will do with it. There must be some interesting research opportunities.
