1080 Poor Fallout 4 Performance

Ok update. Turned godrays to low. now my Z35 FPS says 144 constantly however it's not smooth so I'm not sure why it's saying 144 FPS.

What exactly does that do?

It changes the iPresentInterval from 1 to a 0

:p

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I think it turns Vsync Off....well it did in Skyrim anyways

:)

What framerate are you running Fallout 4 at? Doesnt crazy things happen in this game with framerates and physics or something?

Yes it disabled vsync which unlocks framerate. However, like WoW it'll run as many FPS as it can and my game round up running in fast forward and heating the GPU.

So I had to use RivaTuner which came with MSI Afterburner to limit framerate to 100. I was tempted to go to my screens 144 but it was making the card run rather hot. Limiting it to 100 and the card reaches low 60's in heat.

WoW has an option in the graphic settings to limit FPS to whatever value you'd like.

It's the game, not the card. Lack of optimization. :)

Is a NV Gameworks game, that everyone in here having an NV card praised for its features.

Now you say runs poorly on the GTX1080 because the game is not optimised. However I do not have issues with it, while running a Nano and all gfx maxed out with mods on top.

Nor my brother has issues with the 295x2 on 4k ress.

I wouldn't go as far as to say poorly, but quite a few people in the FO4 thread had issues. It runs well for me, though I find that I need to turn down the godrays and shadow distance to medium to get it just right. I have mods applied to my game also, though not many.

I swear, half the time people complain about a game being 'poorly optimized', it's because they just whacked everything on max settings while not having the power to run it.
