have a weird problem with a ati 5450 and a samsung 1080p TV.
the display is all blurry when 1080 is used but it is fine at 1280*768.
This is using HDMI out with latest drivers.
Anyone have any clues to why this is.

I am not sure if its related or not but I have had no end of problems sync'ing ati cards with hdtv's.

With nVidia cards I have never had a problem with the sync but Ati's have always caused me problems. My last experience I found the only way I could get it to sync properly at 1080p was to use an hmdi booster.

With the booster I found that the actual booster itself would handle the sync with the tv rather than replying on the ati card to send the info to the tv ( hope that made sense ).

The best picture I can get is with 1280*760, even though it displays right up tp 1080 but so so blurry, so not sure if it TV or what. Seems they are happy with it at 1280rez

I used to have a panasonic PX70 which was only a 720p/1080i tv but it would accept a 1080p signal from my pc but would not look right at all. So the question is again, what Samsung tv is it? Are you sure its 1080p?

I have left the job now, got the best out of it I could, methinks its not even 720p.
Even thought it s 42 plasma, still got an OK picture out of it so they can watch iplayer/youtube HD.
Thats all they wanted really so all is well.
