1080ti Upgrade

My nephew has been rocking my 1080ti…remember when I bought it EOL…those were the days…

Just wondering what would be a meaningful upgrade for 3440 x 1440 super wide for him….?

Also what would a 1080 ti go for these days if he was to sell it?

Yeah, I'd bank on clearing a realistic £150ish. Prob not worth the switch, just tell him to turn the settings down!!

I'd say 7800XT at the min, wouldn't even entertain the 4070/Ti due to the low amount of vRam for Ultrawide (barely passable for 1440p).

My easy shuffle days are over… plus the shuffle hardware has not been at all compelling..I’m too lazy these days…The 5950x does all I need it to do.

I’m amazed the 1080ti has held its value so well…

I went to 4070 FE from a 1070Ti. It's been brilliant so far at 1440p with settings cranked right up.

Other than FG and efficiency its general performance is worse than the 3080 which I got for £649 over 3 years ago and as the resolution increases the 192 bus impacts performance even more.

sapphire all the way, whichever version you prefer. ive got the pure and never see temps above 55c even at 100% load for prolonged periods in my case.

edit make sure youve got room its rather large

The Sapphire Pulse and Nitro are both great, though the Powercolor Hellhound is arguably the best of all. Just pick whichever one's cheapest/you like the look of. Theoretically the Asus TUF is up there too, but I'd never recommend buying an Asus product lest you have to deal with them for a warranty claim.
