Damn, how long have you had the CPU for? Stuff like this scares me, as I am planning on building a PC and I don't want to have to buy a new CPU every so often. :(
 
had the cpu for 11 months i think + the mobo is about 6 weeks old , the psu is around a year old and it's the CM Silent Pro M1000W . was playing rage fine since release until tonight , will try it at stock to see

Unless there's an inherent fault or environmental damage (e.g over volt) a cpu will typically last 10 to 20 years without issue. They are hardy, more so than many people would have you believe.
 
well something is not right , was playing rage and my system just restarted . no error given once it had restarted , i am starting to think it may be my psu ?
 
well it is strange as it does not seem to be my psu as far as i can tell , set the cpu to stock speeds and it runs everything fine . so it seems my cpu hates to be overclocked :(
