Just finished going over the finances with my partner and she's finally agreed, after years of moaning, to let me trade my Suzuki Bandit in for my 21st next year.

I know what I want. I've always known what I want. And the hypothetical insurance quote I've just got had a 0 missing from the end of what I was expecting so this time next year I shall be the proud owner of a Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa.

I'm going to be VERY picky over what I get. I'm talking Fox levels of pickiness. Colour, exhaust etc are all very important to me on my bikes. So much so I've just spent all winter re-painting my Bandit as I wasn't happy with the shade of red

Do any of you guys own/have owned one of these beasts and could give me some buying advice? And possibly some decent mods to carry out

Have you checked insurance for your age on a hayabusa lol?

Yes, hence the "missing a 0 from what I'd expected"

Ah lol sorry didnt see that bit lol

Must have been good then lol, I aint done any quotes since last year but I thought nearly £900 fully comp for a 750 was enough, I dread to think about a hayabusa lol

The insurance on my Bandit has just gone from £650 to £150 fully comp. Insurance on a 'Busa is £350 tpf&t. Fully comp is over twice that but I've decided that it's only really useful if I stack it myself, in which case I'd much rather do the repairs myself as I love working on bikes and it gives me a chance to tune it to my own sick and twisted designs
