Pentium?

*facepalm*

They're not STILL trying to milk the pentium brand are they? They called the E5*** and E2*** series pentiums when physically and functionally they are clearly core2duo. Pentium is not a good name any more. It conjures up images of woefully outdated computers.

The industry seems so unwilling to move forwards these days in certain areas. multi-threading and 64-bit being the prominent ones.

Pentium G6950 has been known for a while now. Also Pentium is a brand and it seems Intel want to continue to use it for thier value chips, if it means people buy more expensive Core branded parts then it is working as Intel intended. Pentium branded chips are currently Intels best selling brand volume wise.

only to those who cant let go of the pentiums of old. none of that matters to people who arent enthuisiasts - they just no and trust (rightly or wrongly) the pentium branding. It doesnt matter to enthusiasts who know better either. or at least, it shouldnt ;)
