12 data maps that sum up London

Really interesting. Amazing/scary to see how much information is actually readily available... Loving the marriage one, single people in the centre, married ones in the burbs

Quite surprised about the stat that less than 45% are white British. I live in London and would never have thought the native population to be that low!

depends on you social circle but if you just go stand on the street you soon notice.

I live(d) near Upminster (its on the married map) it will soon become the Indian/Bangladeshi sprawl as they earn their money and look for better houses to buy and rent.

Basically any stop on the district line east is destined to become a **** hole.

Dagenham/Newham already went.

Its another to make you vote UKIP.

This is true.

I live in West London, Zone 2 and travelling further afield into Zone 3+ the demographic does change dramatically.

Yep, kinda what you expect it to look like but its so pronounced.

The flickr one is interesting, re: your first point. Wonder how much they made from offering up that data?

Highly unlikely. Upminster has and will be for a very long time a majority white British town.
Also it's been a **** hole for years.

Saw a somalian taking her children to school in romford other day wearing full ninja outfit. First time i've seen that in my street, I think that will only increase as time goes by. The local school on my road has school policies on their website has 6 languages available.

Bengali - Italian - Punjabi - Romanian - Russian - Urdu

I think by 2025-2030 the entire east will be like ilford is now. Majority indian and black. Even in the last 4-5 years ive seen the amount of non white British increase in my area substantially. Indians have big families and they own a lot of property and business. They are buying up majority of the property that comes available in the east.

It's a great map to see where i might move to in a couple of years, Newham was a complete **** hole and i see the creep coming in further out on the central line

I'm completely stunned by Lewisham!! I'd thought it be as red as Newham! And Redbridge is a lot redder then i thought too, Only Ilford is a crap hole in that area

Its why Labour wanted so much immigration, they basically imported Labour voters to stay in power. It's why London is a Labour stronghold

Nice to see our tolerant commentators adding their two penneth in

GD

Nice to see I got a good deal on my 2 bed in Shepherd's Bush. Was a few years ago but was £1400/month. Median now is closer to 2000!

The concentration of "married but living apart" is very interesting.

I quite like the fact that England has such a large range of Ethnicities.

Quite fortunate that you can have access to such a wide range of cultures, cuisines etc right on your doorstep.

Just a shame some people are so narrow minded and go into meltdown mode because "England is no more!"
