Looking for a 120GB or 160GB harddrive to buy new, just wondering whats the best ones to look at, looking at performance and reliability.

Any sites that compares or personal experiance here?

Cheers.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 NCQ 160GB ST3160812AS SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-050-SE)

This is what i have in mind at the moment

The Hitachi 160s and 250s are very fast, and reliable too. They seem to be the most popular drives to me.

The Seagate is good for reliability and has an extended 5 year warranty.

Depends what your going to use the Hd for?

If your putting the OS and programs/games on it then I would go for the fastest (IBM/Hitachi)
If however your simply using it as extra storage then I would go for the Seagate as you get 5 year warranty with that and a very good reliability record.

It will be used for OS/Programs/Gaming/Burning/Playing music/Internet/Data

The faster the better, but i will scarafice a bit of speed for reliability.

Thanks everyone... Going for this one.
