I'm after some quiet case fan's, because I'm fed up of the noise.

Can you actually get silent fans that do equal airflow to the normal ones?

I've got some panaflo L1A (about 5 years old now) with a cheap zalman fan controller keeping them at 5V. They are literally silent but definitely do not push as much as a normal fan. I reckon its just a trade off between noise and throughflow.

I'd suggest you check your PSU, gc and cpu fans as i found that they tend to make just as much noise or more even than the case fans.

What case and what case fans are you currently using?

I've started using Yate Loons, only cost around £5 each there rated for about 33dB and push 70CFM those are the D12SM's

The D12SL's which im using are rated for 23dB and push 46CFM, i've got two of these on my H50, going to be buying the D12SM soon to help get cooler air to my H50 in my Antec 1200

I'm going to buy the exact same fan's because I don't want different pitches which may sound louder.

I need 2x120mm's for my H50, and 2-3x120mm or 2x230mm to go into a CM ACTS840. I currently have the CM690, but want a new case.

My PSU is a CM Silent Pro, it's very quiet indeed!

Well like i say, i've got two Yate Loons in Push/Pull on my H50 and im happy with there performance. You can always get 2-3 D12SM's for case fans pushing 70CFM at 33dB not to shabby at all!!

Oh and as for saman007uks post 100CFM at 18dB i highly highly doubt that at all

Like i've said you can get yate loons for around £5 each, you want what 5 fans, thats £25 for all 5 or you can spend like £75 on 5 Noctua's, performance maybe a little better but not worth the extra £50 in my opinion.

Well i cant say how loud mine is i dont have a sound level meter.

It is quiet though, only if i turn up my Antec Tri Cool fans does it get really loud.

33dB is regarded as quiet, something like the equilivent of your bedroom at nite time

Thinking about going for the Noctua's, at £16 a pop...
Very pressure incapable design and specs are BS like usual.

Fan rule number 1: All specs are BS except size and RPM.

Actually moving/pushing air makes always noise.
You can change only bearing/motor noises and turbulence from bad blade design or resonances of materials.
(avoid shiny/translucent/transparent materials)
