12cm fan on stock AMD heatpipe cooler?

Is it possible to fit a 12cm fan onto the stock AMD X2 4400 heatpipe cooler? the fan whines quite a bit at 1700rpm, and 3000 it's a right whoosh monster. I have a couple of 12cm fans spare so might as well use them (Coolermaster from 810 and Thermaltake Thunderblade at 7v)

Managed to sort something out- the stock HSF is a 8cm fan, and mounted with screws into the HS. Removed the screws, used a akasa 8cm to 12cm adaptor and fitted coolermaster 12cm fan. Just fits into the TJ-08.
