This isn't quite car related but it is motors related.

I have a project which involves powering a small electric motor. Its rated 12/24v and I'm using a 12v 7AH battery pack like this

The problem I'm having is that it stalls very easily. Not sure what its torque rating is but it should be able to cope with the job its supposed to do.

I was thinking if I got a battery with a higher ah say a leisure 36ah battery would that not give the motor more torque? Or find a 24V supply?

Not up to speed with power issues so hopefully someone could help me out?

Ta :)

you have anwered your problem yourself

motor rating 12/24 vdc

12 is no good for traction just get another battery the same size and wire them in series ie daisy chain them to give 24 vdc then you should be fine

you will have double the power ( torque ) on the motor shaft
