Hey, just running Speedfan at the moment, which is reporting a -12v of -16.89, using a Tagan TG530-U15 530W, also the +2.5 rail is showing as 1.9v :\. Quite worried by these, as they are waaay off, any chance they are reporting wrong or is it a dodgy PSU? :\

Hey

Its quite possible for SpeedFan to report incorrect values and tbh if the rails where that different Im sure you would be encountering some very bad instability problems, possibly crashes and random restarts. The only real way to see how the power is going on in a PSU is to attach a meter to various places within the leads coming from the PSU.

No random/crashes yet, but had some problems when I first built the machine, wouldnt boot up etc, just seemed dead, then suddenly worked for some reason and has been fine since

Hey

Well if nothing is wrong with the machine I really dont think theres much to worry about, might be worth getting hold of a volt testing device of some form to check the power ratings through the different rails on the PSU but it would only be to settle your mind.

Yah, gonna have a look in the BIOS, see whats reported there :)

Speedfan is crap and can No longer be relied on.
Check the bios readings or better still get a probe/multimeter.

Even though it's sorted now, don't worry about the - voltages, nearly every psu is way off on those and it almost never matters.

Yeah, just got a bit worried when it was showing as -16, not -12 :p

This is what I was going to post, i'm fairly sure the negative voltages aren't used anymore. If your +12V is ~+16V then that's the time to worry! ;)
