13" MacbookPro replacement Screen

basically being the complete fool i am i closed my mac onto my mobile and it's cracked the screen. It's a mid 2010 model.

I was wondering what cos i'm potentially looking at to get this repaired.

i've sourced a mac repair specialist in Birmingham who can replace the glass for £105.

Nice one on finding the price for the repair, is that using official Apple parts?

I'd be tempted to source the parts myself and do a 'self fix'

Not sure it's official screen but tbh i'm not that bothered. as long as it's a good screen and fitted properly. guys at mac repair Birmingham are doing it.

If it's not from Apple, it won't be an official screen.

Have you asked Apple how much it would be? Their prices are quite reasonable.

I was one of the 70. I'm afraid I've never been a 'complete fool' and closed my macbook with my phone inside, so I just couldn't help. I suspect the other 69 people thought the same.....

We did lol though.

Glad you got sorted, but as above I'd definitely get a price direct from Apple first.

I'd probably just get on everyone's favourite auction site, and look for a complete MBP 13" top lid, if I'd managed to do this to mine. Not that the genuine panels are amazing, but I'd be wary about what was being used.

I'm another of the 70. My apologies to OP for not being a fellow halfwit and smashing my MacBook screen either.
