13" MBP

Yes it is a way for Apple to force you to upgrade and spend more money on the 15inch if the matte display is a desirable option for yourself. I'm sure they will update the 13inch eventually to a matte display, however, that will be a long time coming.

I quite like the glossy screen on my macbook but yeah, if you want a matte display then you will have to look at the 15/17 inch models. :o

I bought a 13" yesterday and to my disappointment realized this was the case. You can get a anti glare sticker but it's £30!

I walked out of the shop at that point but then walked back in and bought it so I could see how I fared with it. The 15" with anti glare was also out of stock, which was the reason I bought the 13" at the time.

i haven't had it for 24 hours yet and it's already getting on my nerves. The anti glare sticker seems like a good idea as it would double as a protector, but if it can't compare to the anti glare screen it's a waste of time and money.

Why did you go ahead and buy it just because the 15" was out of stock? Seems a bit hasty.

Because I actually wanted the 13" due to it's size. Price was also a factor as I didn't want to spend another £400 I can't justify for the 15", and if i did i would go for the 2.66GHz with 9600M GT.

I'll have to fall in love with OSX to keep it otherwise I'll end up buying a £400 windows 7 laptop. If I do keep it I don't want to regret not buying the more powerful machine at a later date.

I'll just hold out for the 13" anti-glare option then.

The only good reasons I can think of getting a glossy screen is easier to clean and maybe better colour but the bad points outweighs the good.

I really don't understand why people complain so much I had a 13 MBP for 2 weeks before sending it back because of a defect but it was not a problem, just turn up the brightness and stop looking at it all the time and it will be fine.

Because it's next to impossible to use it outside. All I can see when I sit in the garden is mirror reflection of myself and what's behind me. Yes, it's brighter than regular white macbook, but sit outside and open shell and you start asking yourself who on earth conned you into buying glossy screen for £800 in 2009.

I have a proper anti glare filter for it on order from US, will tell you guys how it fares.

O stop being such an Apple fanboy! Stop looking at it all the time? It's the bloody screen on the laptop, what do you expect me to look at!?

Is this what happens to people after buying apple products or is this a one of individual?

Anti-glare screen is the superior screen, why do you think they charge £40 extra!? Stop living in your world of denial.

Apple don't think so, otherwise they would have had the anti-glare screen as the default option.

Not another one.

They make it the default so you have to pay extra for the better screen. Apple is just like any other company, they want to make money.:rolleyes:

Another what? Fact giving forum poster? Apple have said they believe it's the best option because it offers "deeper blacks and showed more vivid colors".

Plus, if they only offered the anti-glare to make money, why add it back to the 15" Macbook Pro? Why not carry on making people upgrade to the 17" Macbook Pro and make even more money?

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

They may believe that, doesn't make them right though. The way you said made it sound like because that's their opinion it's correct (which is the way a lot of Apple users come across, not all of 'em though :p).

I still want one though.

Everything has pros and cons, if they decided glossy was the best option I'm willing to go along with that.

Charging £40 doesn't mean it is the superior screen which support_bea seems to believe. And throwing fanboy in to a conversation doesn't make your opinion correct either.
