Last week I ordered
Moshi iVisor AG reusable, easy apply anti-glare screen for Macbook Pro 13" (or regular unibody macbook) from US. This is supposedly far superior to any other anti glare screen due to patented, very easy application and the fact you can have it on and off the screen, and even wash it without affecting its "sticky" properties much.
To be absolutely honest, I was sold by
itsmemorphious' raving video review. Those who seen itmemorphious reviews before know by know the dude is unstoppable ranter, he gets excited easily like a drama queen on hash brownies and while he's in rant mode he's more viral than QVC channel crossed with five Steve Jobs doing MacWorld demos. It's the second time I impulse bought an item after seeing itsmemorphious review and second time, I
sort of come to regret it. But more about it later.
Moshi iVisor AG comes in nice, stiff packaging, with small microfibre cloth to wipe your screen. The application, just as described by manufacturer is super easy. No air bubbles, no smudges - just align and press corners and it's ready. The anti glare effect is immediately visible and obvious:

So far so good.
And then you notice
it.
Do you remember the days when your employer rolled out Win 98 and the entire office got those new Pentium II 75Mhz PCs with compaq or elonex 14" screens with SVGA resolution and 60 hertz refresh rates, and a month later every IT journal wrote how they were bad for eyes, headache inducing and making people puke all over their shoes? Do you remember how, to avoid lawsuits, monitor makers rolled out plastic anti glare addons to those screens. And what was once stroboscopic, horrible refresh rate became this fuzzy, unsharp picture viewed from behind beekeepers hat or mosquito veil?
That's what the sticker screens do. Don't get me wrong - they do their job - you can read your emails in the sun, I've just tried. But my god - i'm focusing and refocusing my eyes 20 times a minute and just can't get used to how fuzzy the screen is:
So.. safe to say the Moshi iVisor is going off my screen, I'll use it only as last resort, if I absolutely must work in direct sunlight.
