1360x768?

thinking of picking up a dvi to hdmi cable. gonna need one at some point anyway so may just go out and grab one today and give it a try to see if it makes any difference.

I Thought the LCD Tv's were 1366X768 ? that resolution is a tough one as its not divisible by 8, so if You got 1360 You will still be getting some scaling anyway !

Maybe set output to 1280x720 and let the TV do the scaling

Unless the TV supports native rez, like the LG's. You lose 6 pixels in total width wise, but it's not scaling.

Sure, I thought we were talking LG, with some of the other TV's I understand You cannot feed them 1300..anything DVI or VGA inputs

yea my tv is 1366x768 but it runs in 1360x768 and 3 pixels lines get removed from each sides. resolution is still native and proper sharp and clear.

got the hdmi cable now. will hook it up in a bit.

Most lcd tv's only support hd resolutions over hdmi so you might only get 720p and 1080i and the lower hd resolutions

yea i was wondering about this, but if the tv scales the rez up to full screen with no blurry text etc then all should be fine. gonna try it out now.

Video scales fine text is a no no, You can always test by making a text file full of AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA or iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii and see if the display is trying to part display pixels....You will see like a strobe effect

just tried the hdmi cable route and no luck although the rez can be increased up to 1920x1080 which is not too bad but text is still iffy.

gone back the to vga cable now since that has given the best picture quality. guess its software that needs to be allowing the correct rez.

yes its not clear type, its the resolution thats a problem. gonna try some other stuff but not gonna spend a lot more time on this. gonna give it another hour or so then i put the brakes on it and just carry on using it for non gaming use till something else can sort it out.

I run BF2 at 1368x760

just make your shortcut target look like this:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1360 +szy 768

It won't show it in the video menu but when you go to play the game is goes to this res.

HTH

yes iv sussed it out now. its the monitor driver thats the limitation. im using powerstrip now to create a driver for the monitor. nocked up a quickie with my 1360x768 rez in it. installed the driver and bingo flatout 2 setup is now showing the resolution i require.

need to tune the rez though cuz i just nocked it up without any setup so its a bit wonkyish. will keep you guys posted.

i run all my games on 1366x768 with geforce nvidia 7900, and duel core. everything looks amazing with full AA seetings.

I only really play wow, though lol.
