14 prison officers involved in beating inmate to death in US

It's amazing these people don't know what cameras are, or how they think they can get away with it.

bet it's not the first time either.

Regardless of what happened before its going to be very hard to justify 14 people killing someone who is detained.
Was it actually 14 people? or was it like 2 people while 12 watched and didn't bother saying anything.

It's not clear in the OP and it makes quite a difference.

Not sure how it works in USA but if you're part of the group then charged with the same? Otherwise rioting wouldn't actually be crime, you could just say I'm just walking with these lot, I neva did nuthing guvnor!

I'm guessing there must be more to the footage than the 5 mins in the article, as I didn't see more than about 7 people including the person who's bodycam it was in the room. (or are people out in the corridor also implicated?)
He also appeared to still be alive (obviously badly beaten) just before they dragged him to the corner, or did he die from the injuries later?
Edit: it defintely looks like the guy on the near side of the bed was strangling him, but probably not clearly enough for court purposes.
(not in any way excusing their actions, just wondering if there's other, more incrinmating, footage.)

Hopefully once all evidence comes to light, they'll throw the book at those most responsible, I think the public response (rioting etc.) to many of these kind of incidents may not be quite so bad if it wasn't for the over-reach of 'qualified immunity'

I can only assume he must have done 'something' to one of the guards to get a reaction like that, doesn't excuse their actions though.
Still, lol America, it's just nice to have a day without a school shooting.
