Hey guys, im looking to buy 3 fans for the top of the Corsair 800D case. I was hoping one of you would be able to suggest a brand of 140mm fans that would have the highest efficiency at cooling. These fans need to be in-take fans as they are cooling my radiator for my watercooling.

So basically im after 3 high performance yet very quiet fans.

Also id like to have them with lighting of some sort. Im trying to get a purple rig together at the moment so if I can get purple fans that would be awesome however I know its pretty hard to find purple anything for PC's :p

Thanks in advance!

The deepcool UF-140's boast a high CFM, though they appear to be 140mm with 120mm fittings. What fans do you have currently? Give us a guideline on what your trying to improve from...

Im using stock fans that came with the Corsair 800D.

Im looking for coloured (LED not necessarily the fan itself but it doesnt matter if it is) fans that are of a very high efficiency that run as quiet as possible (in relation to the efficiency).

I guess the best question would be to say:

1) What is considered the number 1 fan brand for 140mm efficiency.

&

2) What is considered the number 1 fan brand for 140mm quietness.

Based on that I can go from there.

Thanks again in advance ;)

I recently spent a lot of time working out what ones to get as I wanted to replace the 2 x 140mm fans in my Coolermaster CM690 II case.

I ended up ordering the Fractal Desing fans as they generally have the best reviews. Out of stock here at the moment but I have been advised they are back in next week. :)

I have already managed to bag a new one from the MM and am just awaiting the second one.

This is one review site I went to but I will not link it as they do sell fans as well -

Thanks for the info.

I like the look on the Fractal Design fans although the only downside is that they do not have any LED lights to go with it. Im bit of a poser and I want something that can light up the top of my case a little.

Im not concerned with the interior as I have purple UV watercooling doing that currently.

I just want to pimp the fans out to a nicer looking set that give me a cooler radiator/watercooling.

Any way that I can add LED lights to those fans without drilling holes and whatnot myself?

Sorry guys ive just done some looking around and its 1 140mm fan I want (which will be an exhaust) with the same features above applied and 3 120mm fans I want for the top of the case.

Thanks again :p

I doubt it. Most non LED fans are made of opaque plastic so how would light shine through them unless there's a hole. I tried shining LEDs onto fans from a distance and it didn't look wonderful.

It's not too hard to drill a few holes and mount a few LEDs with hot glue though. Click my sig for a tutorial.

Funnily enough, the best 140mm fans are the ones with 120mm fittings like the Thermalright Ty tr 140s and the Scythe ones. If you want decent but quiet low rpm fans, the thermalright x-silents are meant to be good.
