So I've had a 144Hz 1080p monitor for a while, but recently put a scratch in it. It's not that noticeable during gaming as it's near the edge of the screen, but when browsing the internet it's a bit annoying.

I've been thinking about upgrading to the AOC AGON AG241QG.

24", 1440p, up to 165Hz + G-sync technology.

I'm mainly into MOBA's, so low input lag and fast/smooth display is my priority.

Is this monitor a good deal at £390?

I saw some feedback that the coating is a bit of an issue on white backgrounds. But I assume that while gaming it is not an issue?

I'm also not 100% convinced about G-sync. Is it really #worth the extra ~£75 or so? I have a 1070 so imagine it would definitely get a lot of use as probably won't be able to maintain 1440p @ 165fps with newer games.
It is pretty annoying when I get a bit of stutter as soon as gpu drops below max refresh rate on current screens, but doesn't happen all that often @ 1080p/144Hz or 1440p/60Hz.

you only need 1ms for competitive gaming. there are a couple of ultrawide 3440x1440 that will do 100hz. CF791 for example
or if you have big funds available you can wait for the 4k 144hz monitors that will be available for the end of the year.

it's not just competitive gaming that benefits from 1ms GtG time, any single player game with fast motion will have far less "ghosting" / motion blur.
i used to get really annoying trailing/ghosting with Diablo 3 on a VA panel. it had decent colours/blacks though. but useless for fast-paced games.
