Hey guys, could use some help here.

So I bought a new AOC G2460FQ this week, as advertised here:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-024-AO&groupid=17&catid=510

So, I can't get this thing to run in 144Hz or anything higher than 60Hz, no matter what I try..

It didn't come with a dual link DVI cable in the box, which was pretty annoying, but I have one now. I have tried the monitor in 2 separate systems, one with a GTX670 and one with a GTX460.

Same problem with both.

If I try and enable 100Hz / 120Hz / 144Hz mode through either control panel or NVidia control panel, I just get a black screen and then it reverts back to 60Hz.

Here is a pic of my NVidia control panel options:

Anyone got any ideas, or anyone got any idea what support I can contact at this time to try and figure out why the higher frame rates are not working for me...?

Also, if anyone who is running a 144Hz monitor can confirm that their settings look the same as mine (especially the "connector" option) - that would be great.

Thanks.

That would indicate the cable may not be compatible!

Can you confirm the cable you are using is a DVI-D dual link not DVI-I?

well the website I bought it from said it was a dual link DVI, but I'm not 100% sure if it actually is, because in my nvidia control panel it only displays as DVI..

it kinda looks like a dual link dvi (DVI-D) cable according to this: (its defo not a single link thats for sure)

man this is literally the most frustrating thing ever! I've been looking forward to gaming at 144Hz all week, it just boggles my mind that the cable to achieve 144Hz is not included in the box in the first place :S:S:S

Has your graphics card got a Displayport on it?

If you have to get another cable get a Displayport cable. No worries then.

ok just checked on the actual monitor, turns out it does have a display port input. the info i quoted was from AOC's website but it seems to be wrong.

i dont have a display port cable at home though.

You're right, the front page for that monitor on the AOC website isn't showing DP on there. If you press on the tech specs tab though its on there.

1920x1080@144Hz DVI-D/DisplayPort@

where can i get a display port cable from at 6:30pm on a friday night :D
got a busy weekend lined up but i was free all wed/thur/fri evening, so ultra annoying that the monitor isnt working at 144Hz!!!

ok, there's a Curry's apparently open til 8pm a few miles away..

Dual link DVI is the only way to get 144Hz into this screen if its anything like its slighty bigger brother the G2460PQU

Currys thats going to cost you a lot more then buying online, although being desperate its what you have to do.

***UPDATE****

rode motorbike to closest store -> 0 DisplayPort cables in stock...
rode another 7 miles or so to the NEXT closest store -> DISPLAYPORT CABLE IN STOCK! (£7.49 half price GG)
bombed it home (after a McD's)
plugged in DisplayPort cable

B00000000000000000M IT IS WORKING IN 144HZ!!!!!!!! (make sure to select PC->1920x1080 cos the other option for 1080p doesn't show more than 60Hz)

Many thanks to DannagE!

@stulid - the older AOC G2460 models don't work with DisplayPort, but apparently the 2014 models do. I checked on PCmonitors.info before heading out, because I vaguely remembered reading something about it a while back.
http://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-g2460pqu -> "calibration" section (below pic of control panel settings)

no idea why my cheap dual link DVI cable didn't work. but hey that doesn't matter any more ^_^

PRAISE THE SUN!
