15 mins of red alert 3

"Hmm, its the third game, we need to add something new and exciting thats never been done before... I know! lets add a third faction!!"

Not impressed. That and with the ore gathering is a big let down.

I do like the naval ideas though, reminds me a lot of Total Annihilation. But still, this one plus doesnt make up for the other minuses.

PK!

Almost done with the vid:

+ Nice overall gfx ( too cartoonish for my liking, but still not rubbish,)
+ Original RA2 sound
+ More or less the same style for allies/soviets, eg. dradnaughts&tesla for soviet, AC for allies.
+ Naval building

- bit cartoony/dumbed down
- ore : Lame, reminds me of generals, maximum gathering speed now per field unlike in cnc3 and RA2:(.
- The red glow around your selection
- the person that is telling stuff is stupid, he gets attacked a few times and ''god these allies are persistant'' what a noob, unless he's acting for all those little kids out there. Also '' spitrited resistance'', a few tanks ? and ''that's a load of tesla troopers'' ( just 16 I think?).
I attack with over 50 units in RA2 sometimes, in mp even more, had a like 200 vs 200 battle quite a few times.

EDIT, wth is the empire of the rising sun?

You pretty much summed up everything for me. I like the cartoon style graphics, looks similar to how RA2 looked. The minus points you have brought up are only minor, with the exception of the resource gathering system, big let down I think. I want my ore trucks back!

It's good to see the grid system back again, just like in RA2. But I'm not sure about the amphibious engineers and MVC, seems to make it a bit too easy.

I really hope someone makes a RA1 mod for this game.

Hmmm, I like the naval aspect of it.

I don't like the new method of collecting ore, very dumbed down.

Still looking forward to it though.

I think it looks very good. Graphics are very similar style to Starcraft 2. Naval base looks awesome and should bring some nice tactics to the gameplay hopefully.

I think the ore nodes could be a good addition as it might work similar to CoH. And you'll have to fight over control to gain the advantage.

Not as fun as building a convoy of Ore harvester, stealing your opponent's ore from right under their noses (whilst they're too busy building stuff) Till they realise, where the hell did half of the ore go... too late :p

Those nodes are just the same type of system as the metal deposits in TA\oil puddles in KKND...except you can't upgrade the production.

Indeed, much more fun.

It's generals 2, so the losers that liked that will lap this up :(

Bring back proper CnC!

You imply waaaay too much that your opinion of what an RTS should be, is the perfect one and that if anyone likes a game that doesn't follow it, they are losers/idiots. Not all games have to play the same way to be fun, some games can even be fun without being too competitive ;).

your opinion is NOT gospel, and people are not losers for liking something you don't.

Agreed fighting over a ore field is great part of the game and another part is destroying their harvesters.
