£1500 budget Gaming PC

I'm looking for some suggestions for a £1500 gaming Rig that would include a ATI HD 5970, since I'm wanting this rig to last for quite a while without an upgrade I thought I'd jump to the best since I have a hunch I will be able to fit it into my budget.

I need everything including Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor. I'm not too fussed about the monitor, only requirement is 1920 x 1080 and have an HDMI port along with the usual ports, and be of relatively good quality... mouse wise probably the MX518 for cheap value goodness and a keyboard of some sort.. maybe the saitek illuminated version?

For the CPU, I was thinking of a Phenom II 965? I've seen people discussing the futureproofness of the i3, i5 and i7 however Isn't AM3 is getting some new releases later this year? and since an i5 is on par with the cheaper Phenom II 965 It doesnt seem like it's worth the extra... since I'm only going to be using this rig for Gaming, MS W/PP/Publisher, Music and general browsing.. the Phenom II 965 seems mighty attractive!..

Some suggestions would be be really appreciated.

That includes everything but a keyboard, mouse and case.
Generally users have their own preferences regarding those.

A 5970 is overkill for such a system. A 5850 can run everything at max at the resolution you want to game at (except maybe crysis).
If you do have any problems, you can add another 5850 in a month or 2 (or maybe the nvidia fermi if it's worth it).
