I'm novice at this stuff, trying to build a system from scratch for internet browsing, photo editing, and hopefully some gaming.

Please can anyone help point out any imbalances in my proposed set-up? (In particular, I know nothing about motherboards - is the one I found suitable/compatible/in line with everything else?

Thanks a lot for any help.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,471.80
(includes shipping: £0.00)

(Need Windows 10 Pro for logging into work server apparently)
(Have storage/storage is coming out of a different budget)

Cooler.

The k skylake chips don't include one, raijintek do one for £15.

Thanks - had seen coolers mentioned, but that's all new to me - will add the Raijintek to the build list.

Mouse/Keyboard are investments, had the normal M65 before but found it uncomfortable so switched to the Rival 300 and I'm much happier.
Could save a bit if you don't "need" RGB lighting.
Thanks. Mouse and keyboard need to be 1) comfortable (so I'm gonna look into the differences re the Rival - thanks) and 2) capable of looking stylish enough for my wife to be happy using (her stipulation was "not bloody black and red!") - hence the RGB - hoping I can set them both up with cool white lighting.

That case is bit on the cheap side but I don't know how good it really is. With the cooler as Stulid pointed out you now just need the extras - Speakers, Headphones, Joystick, steering wheel and pedals :-) Oh and some games.
Andi.
Huh. You jest, but I'd not thought about speakers. Gah. I'll also look a bit more closely at cases. Just after something as minimal and "non-black-and-red" as possible.

Do you need windows pro really? Save a few £
I've been told by our work IT boys that I need Pro to log in to the work servers.

Thanks again for all the help.
