Hello fellow PC Enthusiasts,

I was hoping to get your input regarding the following build. Do you think there's a better compilation of PC components? The PC will solely be used for gaming. I've no interest in looks, only performance.

In summary, I require, OS, Monitor, Mouse and Base Unit for the sum of £1,500.00 Max £1,600.00.

Any advice is appreciated.

On a side note, how much does it cost for an Overclockers operative to build the PC below? Is there a standard charge or an option when you go through the purchasing system?

Kind Regards,

Fox

Hi Stulid,

I appreciate your quick response.

Is there a better airflow case out there? I choose the NZHT case due to the reviews, but further posts suggest corsair provide better cases? It also means I don't have to buy an external DVD ROM. I see you also went for an water/air cooler, have air coolers fallen off the map of late?

Regards,

Fox.

They certainly will fit.

The Kingston Beast RAM is 46.41mm tall, that cool,er claims it has 55mm clearance for RAM, so they also fit.

I also hope it fits in the case,

The case takes coolers upto 165mm tall.

That cooler is 159.7mm at the highest point without an overlapping fan fitted.

I can recommend the corsair 540 case for excellent cooling and cable management. It is quite wide however so worth making sire you have the room, i'll be keeping mine for a long time.

So you think its best to swap out the current case for the 540, drop down to 970 and pick-up the better monitor? Is the current monitor I initially outlined not suffice for gaming 1080p?

The one you chose is a 60Hz Monitor. I would suggest going with a 144Hz monitor as the GTX 970/980 has plenty of Horsepower at this resolution.

If you still want a GTX 980 then you could do something like this and still be under your £1600 limit.
