HI Guys

Just bought a 150G Raptor from OC today and the Western Digital WDSC50RCW Secure Connect Serial ATA Cable. Now there were no jumpers fitted to the Raptor though there was a jumper in the bag with the cable.

Do I need to fit one

I also have a 74G Raptor as my C Drive and I have noticed that does have a jumper fitted to it on pins 3&4 (PUIS)

I am wanting to install this 150G Raptor as my D drive but wanted to check before fitting

I think pins 3&4 are for enabling power management whatever that does (the WD site isn't great) so you could possibly get away with removing it but since there wouldn't be any performance gain I'd leave it where it is on the basis that you know it works as it is.

Ok thks again

I have the drive working now, so far I have only installed BF2142 and I was playing tonight with a friend who has two hard drives set up in a raid I was in the game before him when the map was changing, dam this drive is fast

Anyway thks again :D

Were you both running identical resolutions and in game settings? If not then you can't make a comparison like that.

He is running 2 x 7900 in SLi 4 x 74g Raptor 8MB Cache set up in a raid + 24" Dell Widescreen, all setting maxed out in 2142

I am running 8800 GTX 1 x 150G 16Mb Cache Raptor + 24" Dell Widescreen all settings maxed out.

Looks like we both have the same settings to me
