£15k, Approved Used

This is actually quite difficult.

200BHP petrol immediately discounts the Mazda - it's NA and flat as a witches tit.

£15k is not quite enough for decent W205 C Class and it's also tight for an F30 328i. If you can add another £2-3k to the budget, a C200 Sport becomes a viable option and they're a nice car.

You'll get a nice Mk5 Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost Titanium X for your budget, but they're thirsty with the slushbox. The Mk4.5 is a better car, but the interior is a bit dated now - but if you drop your budget to £10k it might be a better option as it's a bit less thirsty with the Powershift box.

An Octavia vRS would also be worth a look, as would a 528i if you can find one.

Thanks guys, loads of useful stuff here. I think I need to go and see a few cars and then carry on thinking when I'm a bit more informed. Certainly got some considerations now that I didn't have before this thread so thanks.

Haha, I know the feeling, I had to travel 334 miles round trip to collect our F11 535i! Had to compromise on colour (Alpine White) as well as age (60 plate) to get the engine. Its reasonably well specced with pro nav, memory seats, visibility pack, but I would have liked a pano roof and the rare options such as radar cruise + other active bits and bobs. That's what you get for not buying new and spending an arm and a leg on options I guess!

Enjoy the car, they're great :)
