New dell 24" is coming at 16:10
Why do they make these 120hz monitors which gamers will be interested in and put them at 16:9?[/LQUOTE]
Because 16:9 is far better for gaming. Games are made for 16:9.
I really hate 16:10 which means smaller field of view and black bars.

Pleased someone posted that now we can start hating consoles for bringing in the 16:9 ratio seen in games![]()

Everyone already has a 50" plasma, we don't want to watch TV on a 22" monitor.
The main issue is that for the majority of applications 16:9 is not most suitable, eg artwork, photography, web browsing, it results in loads of wasted space.
@Evoss
You dont know what you are talking about.
If a game doesnt support 16:10 you get black bars.
If the game does support 16:10 you get a loss in Field of View.

You haven't tried googling it yourself then? Because you would see the myriad of fov alterations that are performed simply by editing the ini files or providing command line arguments in games.
Some games can be hacked yes. But it doesnt change the fact that the 16:9 FOV is bigger by default.
