16 to 34 year olds in the UK watch 46 minutes of YouTube per day.

I watch Aquaholic (motor boat reviews), TFL Trucks, TFL cars, etc.

I find that the quality youtbe channals are far more able to supplyu me with the info I want, rather than the mundane, tedious and downright ignorant mainstream TV shows. Look at Top Gear for example and think did I learn anything?

The app appears to be flawed for me - It's only showing that I've watched stuff over the last three days in the graph but everything I've watched is listed below, just not included in the graph.

For example, watching live Big Jet TV for three hours last week doesn't appear to be counted but it's listed.

All sorts, civ streamers, FM20 streamers, couple of unboxing people, some food stuff, a bladesmith, Drivetribe to name some. I would say I do 30 mins easily on youtube most days, if not all.

Hell there have been times when I have watched people pressure wash a driveway or mow a lawn because they have been recommended to me!

I basically watch YouTube like some people might watch tv. However, I do listen to meditation music overnight which skews the average somewhat. Honest :p

That's impressive!

Mine...some week I watch more, some less, it depends if I am binging content on other platforms like Netflix, Prime, Disney, BBC iPlayer, Twitch or Funimation. Only time I watch actual live broadcast is for football.

And I am older than 34!

various history channels like forgottenweapons, c&rsenal, military history visualised, the cheiftain, drachinifel etc.

a lot of that kind of content is too niche for a mainstream tv network to bother with, and it's nice to have a platform where that kind of content can exist for people interested in it.

it is a valid point about being more representative, i basically don't watch conventional tv any more, it's all youtube/streaming services, just so convenient to be able to watch whatever you feel like watching whenever you feel like watching it.

51 and watch apparently 90 mins on average. General mish-mash of stuff including these channels.
Some are regulars, some one or two vids and some I can't remember why :D

41 here and probably watch an hour, maybe 2 or 3 some days, loads of great content on there to cater to all tastes. Been using it so many years now that it's quite finely tuned and recommends a lot of content i'd otherwise miss.

Hope the BBC don't catch wind of this, they'll add YouTube to the TV licence.

Kinda already is, isn't it? The license covers anything that can receive live TV broadcasts, which technically covers YouTube, especially when you look at the production values of some YouTube channels that are effectively media companies in their own right.

No legal precedent as yet, but give them time and a enough wasted taxpayer money to challenge it. ;)

Hardly any of Youtube is live broadcast though...although elements of it are. Much like the main TV license it'd be totally unenforceable if it were applied peace meal to live content.

Not specifically, the requirement for a licence is watching/recording TV as it's broadcast, not the capability to receive said broadcasts.

What are these 16 to 34 year olds watching?

Personally I only really find it essential for advice on DIY type tasks. What do you watch on YouTube?

19 hours in last seven days. I watch it FAR more than I watch TV.

I don't fit in the 16-34 year old category though!

There is a whole world of content out there. Have a look, you might like it!
