Well, there's a shocker for you. I wasn't expecting this at all.

Apple today also announced that it is offering a new Apple TV build-to-order option with a 160GB hard drive. The new larger hard drive offers four times the storage for up to 200 hours of video, 36,000 songs, 25,000 photos or a combination of each.

Maybe they will make youtubeHD just for the appleTV? just so you can waste 2x as much bandwidth on watching random people.

Thing is in the US you can get movies via iTunes, thus through AppleTV.

In the UK there's no such market so there's less reason for this.

That one's been going round in the rumour wheel for a bit now, as well as HD content for the US store.


But I agree, it's time to stop screwing us over, compare the price of the games, hell even the songs. And the same level of content would be nice…

What makes it more expensive here? Nothing apart from being greedy scum imo.

I doubt they'll announce it, but I'm thinking now that they've updated the AppleTV they may just go ahead at WWDC and say "oh yeah, now you can get your movies in the UK and european stores as of today".

I still don't see the appeal in the AppleTV when you can get a Mac Mini for just £100 more which does everything the appletv does and a whole lot more.

And FrontRow isn't exactly complicated. Bung your media into the relevant folders and off you go with your nice wee remote.

The new Miglia thing looks good (records and encodes direct to MP4) as a possible PVR / replacement for the AppleTV

MacFormat reviewed it this month.. got good reviews apart from the bugs they found in the software

If Apple decided to follow I know they'd make a killing!
