Got a 160gb hard drive and I want to make two partitions..

One for Windows XP, games and installs and the other for music, videos and pics etc.

What size would you recommend I make each partition?

I got no idea what your usage is (like, how big your music library is) but maybe I would make 4 partitions of 20, 90, 30, 20 for WinXP system, Games, Music and Backup respectively. The Backup partition is useful for storing backup images of your WinXP partition. I use a separate drive for each of these but the principle is the same, and it works.

My setup: 20GB for XP & programs, 40GB for My Documents, Games & Downloads, 40GB for Music and the remaining 60GB-or-so for Videos, etc

Got also a 80GB partitioned for the Swap/pagefile, Temp and Backup :D With that, I can afford to format the XP partition when things slow down/etc.

EDIT: Found, from past experience, its much easier to work with or rather recover data from smaller partitions - unless if thw whole drive fails :(
