Hi & welcome

This forum is run by and paid for by Overclockers UK PC retailer, so links to competitors are strictly against the forum rules.

Please either use the OCUK shop links or just name the make and model, thanks :)

What kind of games do you play the most and how seriously do you play? i.e. do you do competitive counter-strike types stuff or single player games, etc.

I play cs and pubg and I want most preformance from my pc. I want to have smothest gameplay possible for not mutch money.

My budget is 350€ and my current rig is
I5 9600k (4.9 GHz OC)
Gtx 1660ti OC
G.skill tridentZ 16gb 3200mhz
Gigabyte z390 aorus elite

With 60hz 1080p vga only Samsung monitor
You can get a much better monitor than a sceptre with that budget. What resolution are you after, 1080p or 1440p?

Your graphics card is not enough to max out a fast refresh rate monitor unless you’re running an old title like counter strike.

I was thinking to stick with 1080p and I will use it for cs and pubg which sometimes drops to 160fps min, but csgo wont drop lower than 220 fps. My next monitor doesnt need to be ultrawide or curved.

5ms is way too high there is a reason 0.5ms displays now exist. What i would say is buy 240hz 1ms or 240hz 0.5ms.

But not sceptre... Acer Dell or Aorus etc have some For example the AW2518HF is £299. Damm good monitor as well! And 165fps to 220 is perfect for CSGO.

I don't think 5ms is bad for any non-competitive use. Also, it's really easy to adapt to your software/hardware. I went from 0-10ping to 80-100ping at one period and performed the same after a couple of days in comp fps.

1ms is a lot faster and there are factors like screen blur that rely on fast pixel tranistions. I was going to buy that AW2518HF myself until they released the Aorus KD25f. It would have much lower blur than the 200hz 5ms if he plays PUBG well what better proof than which monitor did the pros use in Fortnite? Well in tournaments Ninja himself used the Alienware 240hz. Tomshardware have a run down of all the calibration settings as well he would get really low blur and good colors the TN used is almost like an IPS once calibrated. And it comes in £50 below his budget also! OP will not get a better monitor than the AW2518HF for £299.

And if he wants he can easily do 4k 240fps in future with the same monitor i wrote a guide on how to do it if he searches for the kd25f thread.

Thank you mate!! I will check more 1ms monitors and you Got it wrong with csgo, it isn't dropping lower than 220 and my gpu isn't fully overclocked to it's limit. Let's get to the point more hz with little more ms or less hz with 1ms? Which is going to be smother? 165hz 1ms is only £150-160 from sceptre which is a good price i guess!!

Alienware looks good

Alienware looks good

Better than 165hz TN. Even better than 1440p 165hz TN because if you need or want in future to use Nvidia DSR for 4k 240hz you can do it 1:1. The 1440p panel can not do it native it has to stretch and calculate so it looks worse.

The only risk is how well Freesync plays with Nvidia the Gsync versions are £500. But from reading around it seems it does work ok. If you decide to go for it and i think its the best at £300 then here are some links you might need to set the color to custom color mode and use what toms say to calibrate.
