16GB installed 12Gb usable problem

yep did not boot up with just that ram stick,

geez thats 2 things that ive bought that need to go back one of them the h60 which is louder then my car

Now you need to work out which is the other one of the pair as you'll need to return them both.

You running them at the voltage as per spec?

it was a seperate order did not come as a pair worked out cheaper but still the same speeds.

i havent toutched the voltages on them just slotted them in and off you go is that correct lol

You need to make sure it's set to stock voltage as per spec.

It would have booted with that one faulty stick if all was well,regardless of voltages

I had a similar issue (12GB total, 6GB usable). In the end I just moved the sticks around until it gave me 12GB usable, I think it can happen when you've not quite fitted the memory correctly. Kinda wierd because I assumed it would be 'all or nothing' but there seems to be a halfway house where it knows you have xxGB but can't use all of it?

happened to me when I moved from 4 to 8Gb. Moving the sticks about sorted it, Luckily- Shame for op having send ram back.
