16GB Pen drive

Hi all,

I have a 16GB Maxell USB 2.0 pen drive. The PC see's it as 15GB.

I have tried to put two files on there and they keep saying they are too big for the destination.

First file was 10GB, second was 8.5GB and neither will go onto it.

Any idea whats going on? There is plenty of space :confused:

Reformat it?
Not split into 2 drives - 1 secure / hidden?

If it's formatted in FAT32, the largest file is limited to 4G

If its fake you could also have this problem.

Its from a popular supermarket. When i plug it into the pc it shows as fat32 and 15gd space.

Format it with NTFS.

A 16GB drive will show as ~14.9GB in Windows as the drive is measured using a decimal system and Windows uses a binary system.

Convert it to NTFS and you shouldn't have any more problems

Just bought a 32gig from fleabay.

Formats fine in Fat32 but keeps saying its failed when i try and format to NTSF

Any idea?

Hmmmmm?

Checking it, was actually bought from the rain forest.

Just testing it with burnintest and its not had an error, seems to write at high speeds to. Seller feedback is all good.
