OK, lets say you are Craig Charles' agent, how would you convince him that his recent publicity is good publicity? I'm not being a smart arse, I just think that phrase is a fallacy.

It's not so much what his agent has to do to convince us that his recent "actions" were justified. However the fact that he is now back in the limelight got me watching series 1 of Red Dwarf last night, and that has made me decide to get some of the series on DVD, to which he will make royalties on.

Ok, so I am only one person, however surely I cannot be alone in this.

Rubbish.
16 mile walk is easy- I certainly didn't need to train for it, and that was with uncomftable shoes (I can cycle 30 miles easy) she didn't need to run the marathon due to her fitness level...she only needed to complete it.

The times I've heard this.
30 miles on a bike is equal to 6 miles on foot (approx).
I've done 8 marathons and countless half marathons and even at my fitness level I'd be pushed to do 18 miles even walking it.
The majority of people doing the Potteries Marathon are experienced runners and only about a quarter finish it.
Of course we are all different and I can remember Joe Strummer (The Clash) running the marathon with zero training.

OK, I didn't say anything about his actions being justified. He is a soap character on Corrie, he's already in the limelight. This story has lost him 2 jobs and probably about £1,000,000 a year. What's his family going to say? He's been destroyed by this, he might eventually come back but to call this good publicity is ludicrous.
 
I really have no idea why she is famous. I reading some trashy magazine in a waiting room the other day and was shocked to find out she actually has a lot of money now. In fact, the article was about how she took 6 months to notice that £500,000 had been stolen from her accounts by someone removing cheques from the middle of her cheque book. It also said that she had pledged money to a charity and then didn't pay it because she had changed her mobile number and they couldn't get in touch to remind her!
Is she famous just for being an idiot?
