Maybe the lack of responses is because no body knows. Im sure there are reviews all over the web for it, have a look. Might I suggest adslguide

The former. The GS has Speedbooster, so should give you higher throughput, but it's now only available as the v5, which runs VXWorks firmware (as with the v5 G) - which is crap (as well as less RAM, flash etc).
On the other hand the GL is a v4 G, which means that a) it's much better and b) you can run all the third party firmware floating around (since the pre-v5 WRT54G/WRT54GS run Linux of sorts).
