Perhaps if you used a dash instead of a hyphen it would :)

em dash —, en dash –, hyphen -. Totally different.

You guys could at least use ellipses instead of three full-stops, guys.

… vs. ..., it's totally different :p
Doesn't really matter on the forum though. I dislike misuse of certain things, but that is a shade too far for me ;)

Heh, I don't actually care. It's like those who hate it when people use vertical apostrophes instead of punctuation apostrophes (' vs ’)—it's just silly.

I personally use em-dashes instead of hyphens for dashes, 'cause they're really easy to type (Ctrl + M + hyphen) and it looks lots better than space-dash-space. Couldn't give a damn if other people use " - ", "--", etc.

Posts like this do annoy the hell out of me, simply because the the thread starter obviously cannot be bothered with using full stops or commas, now is it that hard?

Everyone is taught grammer and the correct use of the English langauge so why can't we try to keep using ?

What examples is this giving to the young people of today, after all kids will copy from others, so will this lead to an influx of Dyslexic or iliterate or lazy children?

I'm far from perfect and I have no reasons only excuses, which are not good either, I am dyslexic but it's something I can, and have too, live with. I know I spell things wrong and use grammer incorrectly, but a little time and patience goes a long way;).

Did it not occur to you people that some posters do not have good grammar? There's a difference between somebody who banters away in "TXT ***" and posters who genuinely struggle with grammar.

TXT *** and puntucation abuse annoys me fantastically. Posters who have learning difficulties do not.

would you prefer we write ellipsis?

wellellipsis? i personally think that could be pretty cool! Rather more seriously thoughellipsis i do have a tendency to overuse it myself *shock* *horror*ellipsis

i think it's just a better way of saying " i wish i was writing something cleverer" most the timeellipsis

although it does have other meanings. to put it simplyellipsis

ellipsisit's just ace!

edit: sorry.

What's with the uproar of people using "..." after every 3 words? Really, its annoying.

In proper use its fine, makes sense, but after every 3rd/5th word of the bulk of unpunctuated writing there is, I for one am getting sick of see-ing it :/

JUST STOP IT.

-.-
Your post has at least four errors in it... people in glass houses etc... ;)
