Just logged into my online bank account and  over £1700 taken from my account without my knowledge.
Money was paid to Travelmoney in Peterbrough. I am so damn mad and confused .
Spoke to my banks fraud department and they have cancelled my card and have started an investigation. Hopefully, I will get my money back and the ****** will get burned

Wow not good, any ideas who might have your details?

It's scary you never think it's going to happen to you....

Hope you get your money back and they get caught.

I always have my card with me and I don't keep a copy of my pin number. I can only think it has been via the internet because, I have not been to a hole in the wall for a couple of weeks either.

Never, EVER let your cards out of your sight. The petrol station attendant lowers it below the desk while punching up how much you owe? Tell him to put it back on the counter. The bloke at the restaurant wants to take it away to the machine near the till? Follow him and watch carefully.

Somebody used my dads cc a few months back to order a hotel break in spain. I mean.. who the hell is that stupid?

Oh hi Mr and Mrs Smith, your hotel room is ready, however there are two officers to see you first.

I got done for £2,300 last week.
Sent all the forms back yesterday, hoping to get my money back soon :(

I've had money taken from my account as well, was a bit suspicious when only £1.30 was taken, then several lots of £20 were missing, making me go overdrawn, but thankfully i can get those and the charges back. It's pennies compared to what you're missing, hope you get it back

Our lass had her debit card done for £900 over 2 days (3 lots of £300 max they could withdraw, 2 minutes to midnight, 2 minutes after midnight and then again the following day). She got the cash back after about a week and all the overdrawn costs associated with it. By our reckoning it could only have been a local restaurant where they took her card to the bar and swiped it and brought it back, the money went missing that night.

Strange thing was the bank told her not to report it to the police! Makes me think that the banks are making up figures about how secure chip and pin are.

I had £200 taken recently from an ATM in India, which sucked. Nothing like £1700 but it still sucks.

Also my flat got burlged last August. They stole my cards which for once in my life I stupidly left at home and they managed to get £600 of me (got it all back)

Don't worry though, you will get it back. It really sucks though, I know how you feel.

i had £1.50 taken from my card from a company called stagecoach but my bank picked up on it straight away and blocked the card.

was abit strange that this amount was taken but could have been worse. got £1.50 refund as well. :D

Srange, happened to my girlfriends mom last week, on an old card that she shredded and threw away a long time ago. £200 was spent on topups which means they must have known the address (as they topped up on a mobile) and also a further £1,700 was spent on a Dell computer and after she rung Dell they said they refunded the person with a cash return, so looks like they got away with it.

I ran the Paris marathon back in April with my running club, a party of 26 went over, about 20 ran. So far, 16 of us have had our cards cloned, and money drawn off them, some a few hundred, but 5 of us had well over £1,000 drawn off. The one factor being we all stayed in the same hotel.

We're now part of an international investigation between the British Police, French Police, three major credit card companies and Interpol :)

P.S. Everyone is getting their money back, if they haven't already.
