Ok so i know its a old notebook but keeps kids off my dual core :D

So make a long story short kids anit been on laptop for about 2 weeks ive gone to go on it and now get

1782 Disk Controller Failure

Am i right in thinking the hdd has gone ? theres also a "rattle" that comes from it as ive had it out and back in to make sure its in there right

thanks for any help that might come off this

:( too old for people here then i guest lol

And google dont seem to shed light on it either
Looks to be plenty on there to me ;)

Looks like a failure of the HDD PCB itself. It should be a standard 2.5" HDD (might be inside a caddy of a form) so you could use an external case or the like to check whether it works on another machine.
