.

I use ebay and paypal regularly.

For some reason, one thing I paid for a few weeks ago, paypal decided to use an echeque to pay it.

No idea why, all the things I bought before and after went though as normal.

Was rather annoying that I had to wait 9 days. No idea why it happened.

An 'echeque' is what Paypal will do if it has to debit your bank account, due to the system not being instantaneous.

Either your card has expired or they have the wrong details. Have a look.

yup, its when PayPal pulls money from your back (using the direct debit you setup) and has to wait the bank standard 3-5 days for it to hit their account. Will happen when your "backup" fund source (ie credit/debit card) isn't valid any more... it will tell you on the payment pages that its going through as an echeque and you can add a new card iirc.

I had a winner of one of my auctions send me an Echeque.
Took 2 weeks to clear whereas a standard PayPal payment would have been instant.

Guys this happens WHEN

Your debit card changes. Paypal automatically sends an echeque on your behalf without even asking you.

When my issue number changed I forgot to update the details on my paypal account and it sent an echeque to the seller of an item I had bid upon. It's a b****
