Hmmm, local gaming sessions rarely happen since Live was introduced, the sheer ease to game with your mates using Live just got rid of the local side to things.

Now I only ever game with mates directly is if we're drinking or whatnot at each others houses and playing FIFA.

my mate comes around every tuesday for a few games of fifa on his day off from college, thats about it, it mainly stopped for me once xbox live came, i remember days i had 5 or 6 mates playing halo split screen or endless hours on fight night :p, all that stopped though :(, i would love a gaming centre of some sort near to me, they have it easy in the US, lucky gits, i think the closest one to me is manchester

I used to play all the time with my bro. But we hardly have time for gaming now due to me working late after work now and when i dont i am out with my girlfriend. I hardly play games much at all now tbh.

I never turn on my PS3 or 360 if I don't have mates round, dunno why but the solo aspect of gaming went for me ages ago, although GT3 was the only game I spent huge amounts of time on by myself so hoping GT5 might reignite my interest. Never really been interested in playing online with consoles for some reason, i've dabbled but nothing held my interest.

However, most friday's a few of my mates come back to mine and we always have a few games of UFC, Pro Evo, Fight Night, SF4 etc and sometimes Sat and Sunday as well so they are getting a fair bit of use.

As sad as it seems one of the things I will miss the most about uni are my gaming mates, and I was curious how many of you still manage to have local gaming sessions while in full time employment.

Haven't done for years, in fact the last time was Doom 2 deathmatch when a few friends lugged their PCs round to my house which was around 15 years ago.

I do all my social gaming over Live/PSN now - I still have fun :)

The past 4 years at Uni have been fantastic for me gaming wise. I can always play 4 player Rockband, 4/8 player split screen Halo 3, and sparring partners for SFIV, etcetera, all locally with mates sitting beside me.

As sad as it seems one of the things I will miss the most about uni are my gaming mates, and I was curious how many of you still manage to have local gaming sessions while in full time employment. If I can only play SFIV, Brawl and Mario Kart online I'll just stop playing them altogether as they're crap online. FPS games are fine but without the local banter and company it is half as fun (no offence Alrik and Krono) and I'll probably quickly stop gaming if that happens :(

I'll still have the gf for local coop play but I like to play competitively as well :(

That made me giggle lol

Other than the OcUK LAN and the odd visit from Wingzero, Cadman or Alrik, I never play locally.

Honestly having been away from gaming for 6 months I can say I have missed the online banter and the gaming immensely.

Yep. At least once a week I have 3 or 4 mates around for a blast on the 360 - Bomberman Live!, Worms, FIFA etc - afterall, that's what I bought it for since all my friends and me have always had PC's for proper online gaming.

360 needs more local 4 player co-op games (can never get enough). :D

I'm back gaming now, we had a flood end of December and only Moved back in after the repairs about 2-3 weeks ago.

Seems in my absence everyone has also stopped playing games as I can only russle up a few people for gaming a night.

I've got a solid 3 mates that come round for gaming on a fairly regular, almost weekly basis on a friday night, and my girlfriend doesn't mind a game or two either :)

Kreeeee, I think you might find it work out exactly opposite to how you imagine. Because you will have moved away from your mates, you might find that you are more keen to get online to catch up and play with your Uni mates. And shunning boring Alrik and me in the process.
