.

Ok, everyone has to promise to stop quoting the picture of the big spider with the little spiders. Heart attack imminent.

I'm not bothered by spiders but If I saw that giant spider (probably not that big IRL but the picture makes it look massive) with all those little spiders hanging around, I'd probably, **** myself, torch my house and run.

It could be ready to crawl back out of the hover if it's got a nozzle like 'Henry's' have.

Yep, it's a Henry hoover. I'm not bothered if it escapes, and hoovering it up seemed to stop my flatmate panicking about it so we just won't tell her it can escape.

Have you thought of a name for him yet?

I was thinking Steve.

oh noes, that looks ratherhuge

naaaahhh.

this on the other hand...

Apparently the tube web spider is about 2.2cm in size, are the photos macro shots?

It is a large spider, measuring between 1.5cm and 2.2cm (0.6-0.9in), with green iridescence on its jaws.

Or I'm guessing 2.2cm is it's body size?

I live in the city centre and have a little enclosed courtyard which always has these spiders around. They like to sit in the corners of the walls. I could probably find 10-15 of them in about 2 minutes.

I've never found one inside though.

I have three or four of them living in my garage walls around the up-and-over door. They are always out to greet me when I get home from work :(
