Have to love that line

"Please use discretion and caution when overclocking".

And how do they figure killing it with overclocking voids the warranty, far as im aware ther3s no real way for them to know if its been clocked up or not, not as if a retailer is gonna have some kind of tool on hand to check that kind of thing out.

Don't say that or they'll introduce a flash chip that stores a history of the card's different frequencies. :p

that looks a beast of a card! i think the only reason they will have downclocked it soo much is because of the TDP getting it under 300w xD which tells me there will be massive overclocking headroom just like the 5870 :P

So, these are appearing on Wednesday?

(Yes, I tend to ask this in most release threads and then get a complete rollocking from everyone for not reading properly ;))

Yup wednesday some time. Pricing and availability should be interesting to say the least.

Hmm... there's something not quite right here - if it has 'massive overclocking potential' then why not just clock it at the same speed as the 5870's??

Perhaps 'cause the second you do the power and temps go through the roof? Seems kinda weird...

*Edit* OK, I reckon it's to keep the 5970 under 300w (294w)
